VITREUM

This installation was presented at the Orlando Science Center during the annual Otronicon Interactive Technology Expo (January 2020). Visitors were invited to explore creating musical and light patterns by creating their own melodic sequence in real-time. The notes being played were visualized by the lights, with the amount of light directly corresponding to the pitch of the notes. A visual representation of the currently selected melody was also shown with squares on the screen, to visually assist in the creation of the melody. By having a large spectrum of notes/frequencies that could be selected, visitors could also explore how music can create different moods, and how a certain sequence can feel calm or uplifting, or by changing a few selected notes can feel more ominous. Visitors were also able to learn more about how the installation was created, and walk through the lights to experience the music they created through the playback on the lights.
